The IP Consoles form is used to:
assign directory numbers and interconnect numbers to attendant consoles
register the IP consoles to the system
decommission (delete) IP consoles
The form is used to assign directory numbers and interconnect numbers to all attendant console lines in the system. All lines are listed in ascending order. Assign the required directory number, softkey appearance, and interconnect number to each line.
The form contains a Media Access Control (MAC) address aligned with a Device ID. If no relation exists for a MAC address to an identifier, the 5540 IP Console will not be recognized by the system and therefore will not boot up. For the MiVoice Business Console, providing the MAC address is not mandatory. The MiVoice Business Console updates the MAC address during registration with the MiVoice Business system.
Use this form when performing the following tasks:
Deleting an entry in this form forces the 5540 IP console to go through the PIN registration again. For the MiVoice Business Console, the connection to MiVoice Business is dropped.
When deleting a console, you must also delete the corresponding directory entries and voice mailboxes.
A console can only be deleted from its primary controller.
Parameter |
Description |
Default Value |
Home Element |
System-generated, protected field. Identifies the Home element for the IP Console. When you add a new IP Console, you add it to the local element. The local element is the device's home element. |
|
Secondary Element |
To enable device resiliency, select the name of the secondary element for the IP Console from the drop-down list. The drop-down list only contains the names of elements that are members of the cluster. You can only configure resiliency for an IP Console from the console's local (home) element. However, after you have created a resilient console, you can modify its parameters from the secondary element. The modifications are distributed to the console's primary element via SDS. |
|
Device Id |
System-generated, protected field. Identifies the attendant console. |
|
Device Type |
Select the attached device type. NOTE Changing to a 5540 IP Console to a MiVoice Business Console (and vice versa) is NOT allowed and results in a error when attempted. |
5540 IP |
Directory Number |
Enter a number up to seven digits in length. This number represents the directory number. This number will be assigned to the corresponding softkey for the call answer feature. NOTE: The directory numbers used for answering trunk calls are assigned in the Trunk Attributes form as non-dial-in trunk answer points. If the same number is assigned to different consoles, this implicitly defines a Broadcast Group. |
Blank |
Local-only DN |
Allows you to specify the directory number as a local-only directory number in a cluster. |
Not Selected |
Softkey Appearance |
Select a number between 2 and 7, that indicates the softkey on which call indications to the console are to appear. The softkeys are numbered 1 through 7 from left to right. The first softkey is reserved for recall appearances and cannot be programmed. |
Blank |
Interconnect Number |
Enter a number, between 1 and 64, that references an entry in the Interconnect Restriction Table where the interconnect numbers for the workstation are defined. |
Blank |
Language |
System-generated, protected field. Indicates the language in use on a 5540 IP Console. Applies only to 5540 IP Consoles. For the MiVoice Business Console, you can select the language within in the application. |
|
MAC Address |
Enter the MAC address which uniquely identifies each IP device. Mandatory for 5540 IP Consoles. Optional for MiVoice Business Consoles. The MiVoice Business Console updates the MAC address when the MiVoice Business Console Configuration Wizard is run or during its registration with the MiVoice Business system. |
Blank |
Tenant Number |
Enter the number of the console's tenant. |
